Fly Fishing Lessons in Devon at Fernworthy Lake
Fly fishing lessons in Devon at Fernworthy Lake, give the angler the wonderful opportunity to go fly fishing in an unspoilt and wild location. Set on one of the highest points of Dartmoor it can be wet and windy at times, but the scenary and fishing make up for it. It covers an area of 78 acres and offers wild brown trout fishing from the bank only. It is home to some of the prettiest brown trout you will ever see, absolutely fin perfect and beautifully marked.
Wander the banks and find secluded inlets to explore, match the hatch, and cast a dry fly to very wary trout. To deceive these creatures will stretch your skills to the limit, and Devon County Fly Fishing will show you how.
This is a lake where wading is necessary to fish it well. If you have never waded before it is a good place to start as you have no current to contend with and you can get a feel for being in the water and fishing. I always think I feel much more part of the fishing when wading.
Recommended flies: Black Gnat, Floating Beatle Patterns, Buzzers, small Pheasant Tail Nymphs. A great place for the wild brown trout enthusiasts to indulge themselves.
